To lighten your hair we may use one of several products: one of our permanent colours, designed for up to three shades lift on natural hair; a high lift colour, for lightening up to four shades on natural hair; or, a bleach substitute lightening product. Of these, the most popular is our clay based lightning powder which is ammonia and MEA free.

It has no nasty fumes and lightens the hair without creating those brassy, yellow-orange tones, so it usually doesn’t require the additional expense and hassle of toners, and is incredibly gentle on the hair compared to ammonia based bleach. All this has the advantage of leaving your hair feeling almost uncoloured.
